This volume kicks off the entire story with the ultimate cosmic glow-up, as God creates the universe and crowns humanity as the main characters. But the vibes quickly turn rancid with the first major L in the Garden of Eden, setting off a chain of iconic family dramas. We follow the legendary, if messy, journeys of the patriarchs: Abraham, who gets a life-changing DM from God; Isaac, the somewhat quieter heir; and Jacob, the master finesser who wrestles God and gets a new name (Israel). It all culminates with Joseph, the dreamer whose brothers cancel him, leading to an epic villain-to-hero arc in Egypt that ends with the whole family reunited. Through it all, despite the betrayals, questionable choices, and constant drama, God's covenant promise and main character energy prove unshakable, setting the stage for what's to come.
