Nina is so excited! She is on her way to her Yiayia's house to make a special apple pie for the town's Fall Festival. She loves apple pie, and she loves making it homemade with home-grown apples from Yiayia's garden. But when she gets to Yiayia's, she learns worms had gotten to the apples, and a dreadful early frost withered the berries.
Nina, always looking for a bright side, remembers the carrots they planted last year, and they find perfectly sweet and delightful carrots. With a quick search, Yiayia and Nina find a recipe for carrot cake. A cake from carrots?! Will they be able to make another award-winning dessert with carrot cake? And will Nina just maybe find a brand-new favorite treat?
