The first attempt at a federal government is floundering. Representatives gather in Philadelphia to make changes. Instead, a new form of government arises, and with it, the framework for what would become the most powerful nation in the world. Experience the writing of the U.S. Constitution through first-hand accounts. The History Perspectives series uses primary and secondary sources, along with narrative retelling, to highlight the perspectives of three different people of a particular time and place. Readers are prompted to compare perspectives and motivations and to think critically about how we tell the stories of the past.
