During the extended period of filming, Paris suffers a terrorist attack on the popular Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine. These events become transformative for Ahmad himself. His camera becomes an illuminative eye to illustrate the depth of difficulties that people face - from bureaucratic problems to immigration and homelessness.
